Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance are teaming up to host the highly anticipated My Next Move 2025 event, aimed at preparing high school seniors for their future careers and educational pursuits. Set to take place on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Atlantic Technical College’s Arthur Ashe Campus in Fort Lauderdale, this annual event offers a unique opportunity for graduating students to connect directly with local businesses, organizations, and educational institutions.

The event, which is supported by BCPS’s Career, Technical, Adult, and Community Education (CTACE) and School Counseling departments, provides a platform for South Florida businesses to meet students ready to take their first steps into the workforce. With local agencies and companies offering a variety of employment opportunities, including apprenticeships, students will have the chance to apply and even interview on the spot. It’s a win-win for both students and employers looking to fill positions with fresh talent.

One of the key objectives of My Next Move is to ensure that graduating seniors are prepared for life after high school, whether that means entering the workforce or continuing their education. “My Next Move is designed to help graduating high school seniors identify and secure jobs after graduation,” said a representative from BCPS. “The event provides students who do not have post-secondary plans with an opportunity to explore careers and internships, as well as college options.”

The event will bring together a wide range of local businesses and organizations looking to recruit talented young individuals for various positions. For students who are uncertain about their next steps after high school, My Next Move offers an invaluable opportunity to explore different career paths and internships, all in one place. It also helps those students who may not have college plans yet but still want to pursue meaningful employment in the area. With an emphasis on career exploration, the event is designed to give students a clearer picture of the job market and help them take the first steps toward professional success.

“Through My Next Move, we aim to provide our students with the resources and support they need to transition into the workforce successfully,” said a BCPS administrator. “This event connects students with employers who are eager to hire them, and it helps students discover potential careers they may not have previously considered.”

Whether they are seeking employment immediately after graduation or looking for internship opportunities that could lead to full-time jobs, this event ensures they have the tools and resources they need to make informed decisions about their futures.

This year’s My Next Move promises to be another valuable occasion for both students and businesses alike, fostering connections that could have a lasting impact on the workforce of tomorrow.
