Pembroke Pines, Florida – The City of Pembroke Pines is gearing up for another lively evening on the Plaza as Beats & Bites returns with its final throwback celebration of the year. What has become one of the community’s most reliable gathering spots for music fans, families, and food lovers is once again inviting residents to enjoy a night filled with upbeat sounds and outdoor fun. The next edition takes place on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, and organizers are expecting a strong turnout as the holiday season picks up momentum.

Beats & Bites has grown into a local favorite because of its simple concept—bring people together with nostalgia, good food, and long-lasting memories. The December event holds true to that idea, offering a 70’s Throwback Concert as part of the City’s monthly series. The celebration is free and open to all ages, and the Plaza will once again be transformed into a bustling outdoor venue with live performances, oversized games, and a row of food trucks ready to serve early arrivals. As the City describes the gathering, “Beats & Bites is where music meets flavor,” and the upcoming evening promises both in abundance.

For December, the Valerie Tyson Band will take the stage, bringing a mix of soulful vocals and energetic instrumentals that fit well with the retro theme. The group is known across South Florida for its dynamic performances at festivals and special events, and their presence is expected to give the night an extra spark. The band will be performing throughout the two-hour window, playing familiar hits that capture the vibrant sound of the 1970s while keeping the atmosphere relaxed and inviting.

Although the concert begins at 7 p.m., guests hoping to sample the night’s food options can arrive earlier. Food trucks are scheduled to open at 6 p.m., offering everything from snacks to full meals. Each month brings a rotating list of vendors, giving regular attendees something new to try. The City aims to match the food selection with the overall vibe of the evening, adding another layer of fun to the event’s throwback theme.

Beats & Bites is held once a month on Thursday evenings, drawing in a wide mix of residents who enjoy the mix of live music and family-friendly activities. The open-air setup at the City Center Plaza makes it easy for visitors to stroll, relax, dance, or settle down with a meal while listening to the band. Organizers say the event has become an important part of the City Center’s programming, helping keep the space active and welcoming year-round.

Residents who want to keep up with upcoming activities and announcements have several ways to stay informed. The City encourages the community to remain connected through its digital channels. As stated in the announcement, residents can subscribe to Pembroke Pines Media on YouTube, sign up for the NewsFlash monthly digital newsletter, read the City Connect digital newspaper, or browse the city’s official website at www.ppines.com. Updates are also available through the City’s Facebook page and on Twitter and Instagram at @cityofppines. Those with Comcast can also watch Pembroke Pines Media on Channel 78.
