Pembroke Pines announces free Summer Symphony Series opening June concert featuring South Florida Symphony Orchestra performances for the community
Pembroke Pines, Florida – Residents of Pembroke Pines are set to enjoy an evening of live classical music as the city prepares to launch its annual “Summer Symphony Series,” a free concert program presented by the South Florida Symphony Orchestra. The series opens in June and will continue through the summer with a lineup designed to bring orchestral music closer to the community.
The first concert is scheduled for Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Charles F. Dodge City Center. Admission and parking are free, and the event is open to all ages, though seating will be limited due to expected demand.
Organizers say the opening performance will feature a musical journey that spans different cultures and historical periods. The program will be performed by a woodwind quintet, using a rich combination of instruments to highlight a wide range of musical styles and emotions. The goal is to create an accessible and engaging concert experience for both long-time classical music lovers and newcomers.
The “Summer Symphony Series” is presented by the City of Pembroke Pines in partnership with the South Florida Symphony Orchestra, which is bringing professional musicians into a community setting for a series of free performances.
City officials say the series is part of a broader effort to make arts and culture more accessible to residents, offering high-quality performances without the barrier of ticket prices. With family-friendly scheduling and open admission, the concerts are expected to attract audiences of all ages throughout the summer months.
Following the June opening performance, the series will continue with a different ensemble each month. On Sunday, July 12, 2026, audiences will hear the South Florida Symphony String Quartet. The series will then move to brass on Sunday, August 16, 2026, with the South Florida Symphony Brass Quartet. The final concert is scheduled for Sunday, September 13, 2026, featuring South Florida Symphony musicians and vocalists.
Each performance will take place on Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m., maintaining a consistent format designed to make attendance simple for families and working residents. Organizers hope the steady schedule will encourage repeat attendance and allow audiences to experience different musical styles throughout the summer.
While admission is free, officials note that seating is limited, and guests are encouraged to arrive early. For additional information, residents can contact the city at (954) 392-2122.
As summer approaches, Pembroke Pines is preparing to turn its city center into a stage for live orchestral music, offering residents a chance to experience professional performances in a relaxed and welcoming community setting.
