Broward County Public Schools celebrates third straight A rating
Broward County, Florida – Broward County Public Schools is marking a major academic milestone this week, as district leaders gather to recognize being named an “A”-rated school district by the Florida Department of Education for the third year in a row.
School Board members and BCPS Superintendent will host a news conference on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at noon at the Kathleen C. Wright Administration Center in Fort Lauderdale. The event will highlight the district’s continued academic performance and share details about individual school grades across Broward County.
The recognition reflects a consistent trend for the district, which has maintained top-tier status under the state’s accountability system for three consecutive years. Officials say the achievement underscores ongoing efforts in classrooms across the county, from elementary schools to high schools, where teachers and staff have focused on improving instruction and student outcomes.
During the news conference, district leaders are expected to discuss not only the overall “A” rating but also how different schools within the system performed this year. The presentation is anticipated to include updates on academic progress, school-level results, and broader district initiatives aimed at sustaining high performance.
The event will take place inside the Pre-Function Room at the administration center located at 600 S.E. Third Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301. For those unable to attend in person, the district will also provide a live stream of the news conference at https://www.becon.tv/newsconference.
While the celebration centers on academic success, district officials are also expected to emphasize preparation for the upcoming school year. The focus, they say, remains on strengthening teaching practices, supporting student learning, and ensuring schools continue to build on recent gains.
Broward County Public Schools, one of the largest districts in Florida, has placed strong emphasis in recent years on consistency and improvement across all grade levels. The repeated “A” rating is seen by district leaders as a reflection of coordinated efforts among educators, administrators, and support staff.
The Superintendent and School Board members are expected to highlight both achievements and future goals during the event, reinforcing a message of continued progress rather than rest.
As the new academic year approaches, officials say the district will maintain its focus on academic excellence and student readiness, aiming to keep momentum going after another year of strong results.
The July 1 news conference will serve as both a celebration and a forward-looking moment, bringing together district leadership to reflect on progress while outlining priorities for the months ahead.
