Pine Crest Middle and Upper School students earn national recognition for outstanding performance in the 2024-25 National Mythology Exams

Pine Crest, Florida – A group of talented students from Pine Crest Middle and Upper Schools has earned national recognition for their impressive results in the 2024-25 National Mythology Exams. The annual exams, which test students on their knowledge of classical mythology, were taken by 24 students from the school, with 13 from the Upper School and 11 from the Middle School.

The National Mythology Exams are widely respected across the country and see participation from thousands of students each year. They challenge students to dive deep into the myths and legends of ancient cultures, testing their ability to recall complex stories and historical details. This year, Pine Crest students rose to the challenge with remarkable achievements.

In the Upper School, Edward Zhang ’25 was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal for his exceptional performance on the National Medusa Mythology Exam. William Marks ’25 earned a well-deserved Silver Medal, while Ryan Cassell ’25 and Madison Taite ’25 received cum laude honors, recognizing their strong knowledge of classical mythology.

The Middle School students also showcased their expertise, with Georgia Cejudo ’29 earning a Gold Medal for her outstanding performance on the National Pegasus Mythology Exam. Nina Alvarez Demalde ’29 received a Silver Medal, while Vivian Talano ’31, Ayaan Mohanty ’31, Mavan Dobin ’31, and James Strong ’29 were all awarded cum laude honors for their hard work and deep understanding of the material.

“We are incredibly proud of all the students who participated in this year’s National Mythology Exams,” said a school spokesperson. “Their success reflects not only their dedication to studying classical mythology but also their ability to think critically and engage with complex topics. We congratulate each of them on their achievements!”
