Davie, Florida – In a concerted effort to support families in need, the Town of Davie has launched a Diaper Donation Drive in partnership with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Diaper Bank (GFLDB), running now through September 21, 2025. The initiative seeks to provide essential supplies, including diapers and baby wipes, to low-income households and local non-profit organizations across South Florida.

The donation drive is designed to make giving as convenient as possible, with multiple drop-off locations operating throughout the week. From Monday to Thursday, residents can deliver contributions to the Town Clerk’s Office at 8800 SW 36th Street from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., or at the Pine Island Multipurpose Center located at 3801 S. Pine Island Road, open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fitness enthusiasts and early risers can also stop by the Pine Island Fitness and Aquatic Center at 3800 SW 92nd Ave., available from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Law enforcement and emergency services are joining the effort, welcoming donations at the Davie Police Department Lobby, 1230 South Nob Hill Road, and the Davie Fire Rescue Department Main Lobby, 6901 Orange Drive, both from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays. On Fridays, the Pine Island Fitness and Aquatic Center and Pine Island Multipurpose Center remain open during regular hours, while weekends see adjusted schedules, with the Fitness and Aquatic Center open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Multipurpose Center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The drive is accepting a range of items to meet various family needs, including adult diapers, newborn diapers, size 1-7 diapers, Pull-Ups for toddlers aged 2T-5T, and baby wipes. Organizers emphasize that all donations should be new and unopened to ensure safety and hygiene.

“The Greater Fort Lauderdale Diaper Bank helps provide diapers and other related products to low-income families and their children in South Florida,” the Town of Davie noted in its official announcement. “The organization requests that donations be new and unopened. Please note that the Town of Davie will not distribute the collected items.”

This initiative highlights the importance of community collaboration in addressing basic needs. Diapers, while essential, are not always covered by government assistance programs, leaving families struggling to meet this fundamental requirement. By contributing, residents can directly impact the wellbeing of children and caregivers in their neighborhoods.

For those seeking additional information about the Greater Fort Lauderdale Diaper Bank and the donation drive, resources are available online at www.ftldiaperbank.org. Residents can also contact the Town of Davie’s Human Resources department at 954-797-1100 for questions regarding drop-off procedures or specific donation items.

Community leaders stress that participation does not require large contributions; even small donations can collectively make a significant difference. By opening their doors and hearts, Davie residents can help ensure that families experiencing financial hardships have access to essential supplies, fostering a sense of solidarity and support across the area.

The Diaper Donation Drive represents more than a charitable effort—it reflects the town’s commitment to caring for its most vulnerable members and promoting the values of compassion and community involvement. With the drive underway through September 21, 2025, there is ample opportunity for individuals and organizations alike to contribute and make a tangible impact.
