Florida – A Hendry County man is celebrating a life-changing win after claiming a $5 million prize from the Florida Lottery’s popular $5,000,000 CA$H MONEY Scratch-Off game. Agustin Garcia Guerrero, 58, of Labelle, Florida, officially claimed his winnings at the Lottery’s Headquarters in Tallahassee on December 8. Opting for a one-time lump-sum payout, Garcia Guerrero received $3,053,000, immediately transforming what began as a simple ticket purchase into a moment of unimaginable fortune.

Garcia Guerrero purchased his winning ticket from Sunshine, located at 17100 Tamiami Trail E. in Naples. For just $20, the $5,000,000 CA$H MONEY Scratch-Off game offers players four top prizes of $5 million, alongside millions of other smaller prizes. With over 7.3 million winning tickets and more than $328 million in total cash prizes, the game has an overall odds of winning of 1-in-2.93, giving players a strong chance at a life-changing payout.

“Scratch-Off games continue to be a cornerstone of the Florida Lottery,” officials said. In fiscal year 2024-2025, Scratch-Off games accounted for roughly 74 percent of total ticket sales, reflecting their immense popularity among Floridians. Since the inception of Scratch-Offs, more than $66.9 billion in prizes have been awarded, 2,350 millionaires have been created, and over $20.09 billion has been generated for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).

Garcia Guerrero’s win comes as another example of the Lottery’s role in supporting both players and the state’s broader initiatives. The Florida Lottery has contributed over $49 billion to enhance education statewide, including sending more than one million students to college through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program. According to Lottery officials, 99 percent of revenue is reinvested into Florida’s economy, including prize payouts, commissions to more than 13,550 retailers, and transfers to education.

Since its establishment in 1988, the Florida Lottery has paid out more than $103.2 billion in prizes and created over 4,430 millionaires. Scratch-Off games, in particular, have become a cornerstone of these winnings, providing excitement for players while simultaneously funding educational programs and initiatives across the state.

For Garcia Guerrero, the win represents more than just financial freedom. It is a sudden opportunity to pursue new dreams, secure his future, and enjoy experiences that may have previously seemed out of reach. Players across Florida continue to participate in Scratch-Off games with the hope of experiencing similar life-changing moments.

The Florida Lottery continues to encourage players to enjoy games responsibly while reminding them that each ticket purchased contributes to education and the local economy. Winners like Garcia Guerrero highlight the excitement and possibility that Scratch-Off games bring, turning everyday ticket buyers into millionaires overnight.
