The Town of Davie will conduct a scheduled fire drill at Town Hall to ensure staff safety and preparedness

Davie, Florida – The Town of Davie will conduct a scheduled fire drill at Town Hall on Thursday, February 19, 2026, designed to ensure the safety and preparedness of all municipal staff. The drill will take place at Davie Town Hall at Pine Island Park, located at 8800 SW 36th Street, from 7:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and will involve both indoor and outdoor exercises. Town officials emphasize that this is strictly a training exercise, and the voluntary activation of building alarms is part of the process, so members of the public should not be alarmed.

The drill is limited to Town personnel, meaning that employees from various departments will be unavailable to conduct their regular business during this time. Buildings and departments affected include Building A, which houses the Building Division, Business Tax Receipt, Engineering Division, and Utilities Customer Service. Building B, containing Budget and Finance as well as Information Technology, will also be part of the drill. In Building C, employees from Administration, the Community Redevelopment Agency, Mayor and Town Council, Planning and Zoning, Town Attorney, and Town Clerk will participate. Staff from Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts in Building D, along with Human Resources personnel in the HR Building, will likewise be involved.

Despite the drill, services and programming at other town facilities, including the Pine Island Multipurpose Center, Pine Island Park’s Bamford Sports Complex, and the Fitness and Aquatic Center, will continue as scheduled. Informational signage will be posted at the entrances to the park to inform visitors of the ongoing training exercises, helping to prevent confusion or concern among the public.

“This training exercise is a proactive step to ensure the safety of our staff and to practice coordinated responses in the event of a fire or emergency,” a Town spokesperson said. “All participants are expected to follow the established safety protocols, and the public can be assured that this is only a drill.”
