Broward County, Florida – Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Unit are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 38-year-old Jonne Gibbons, who has been reported missing from Fort Lauderdale. Authorities say Gibbons was last seen on Thursday, May 29, 2025, near the 500 block of Southeast First Avenue.

Gibbons is described as approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing around 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. According to family members, she experiences mental illness, a factor that has prompted concern for her safety. Law enforcement officials stress the urgency of locating her quickly.

BSO Detective Leonard Charla is leading the investigation and has asked anyone who may have information regarding Gibbons’s whereabouts to come forward. “We are asking the community to help us find Jonne as soon as possible,” Charla said. Authorities emphasize that even small pieces of information could be critical to locating her.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with tips or sightings to contact Detective Charla directly at 954-321-4274 or call the BSO non-emergency line at 954-764-HELP (4357). Law enforcement officials remind the public that providing timely information can make a significant difference in missing persons cases, particularly when mental health concerns are involved.

Family members describe Gibbons as someone who is loved and missed deeply, and they are urging the community to assist in bringing her home safely. The Missing Persons Unit continues to follow leads and coordinate search efforts in the Fort Lauderdale area, hoping that public support will help lead to a positive outcome.

This ongoing search highlights the critical role of community awareness in helping law enforcement locate missing individuals and ensure their safe return.
