Local businesses in West Palm Beach join forces with the city to honor teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week

West Palm Beach, Florida – This May, the City of West Palm Beach and its local businesses are coming together to celebrate the invaluable contributions of educators during Teacher Appreciation Week, running from May 5 to May 9, 2025. The West Palm Beach Education Advisory Committee has partnered with a variety of businesses in the area to offer teachers an entire week dedicated to recognition, appreciation, and special gestures of thanks for their hard work and dedication to shaping the future of our community.

Throughout Teacher Appreciation Week, local businesses will be offering exclusive discounts, freebies, and special deals to teachers who show their school identification. The initiative highlights the city’s commitment to supporting educators who go above and beyond to foster the growth and development of students, ultimately shaping the leaders of tomorrow.

“By joining forces with local businesses, we can collectively thank our teachers for shaping the future,” said Mayor Keith A. James. “This is just one way we can express our immense appreciation for their commitment and dedication.”

The initiative has received wide support from numerous local businesses, each offering unique deals and services to express their gratitude for teachers. Participating businesses include Bluemercury, Casper Sleep, Celis Juice Bar, Eat N’ Cake Cupcakery and Café, Day By Day Shoppe, Greyson Clothiers, Il Bellagio, Mint Eco Car Wash, Park Ave BBQ & Grille-West Palm Beach, Pura Vida Miami, Rohi’s Readery, Rhythm and Hues, Systema Floyd, The Salty Donut, and select locations at CityPlace Shops & Restaurants. “We all recognize that teachers are fundamental in building the future. This initiative, alongside our local businesses, is a heartfelt expression of our deep appreciation for their unwavering dedication and hard work in educating the next generation,” said City Commissioner Cathleen Ward, District 1, Commission Liaison of the WPB Education Advisory Committee. “We salute both our teachers and businesses for their contributions.”

Teacher Appreciation Week serves as an opportunity for the community to express its gratitude toward educators for their continued support and passion for education. It’s a week dedicated to recognizing teachers’ incredible contributions to the lives of their students, and the role they play in fostering a brighter future. Through these efforts, local businesses are helping to shine a light on the importance of education while ensuring teachers feel supported and valued by their community.

This partnership between the city and local businesses is just one of many initiatives the Education Advisory Committee has supported in recent years. By strengthening the ties between the business community and educators, the city is helping to create a more connected, supportive environment for both teachers and students alike.
