Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives launch investigation into fatal shooting in Pompano beach that left one dead and another injured

Pompano Beach, Florida – The Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) Homicide Unit is currently investigating a shooting in Pompano Beach that resulted in the death of one man and left another injured. The tragic incident occurred late Thursday evening, May 1, 2025, when a call was made to Broward County Regional Communications shortly after 10:30 p.m. The shooting took place near the 3200 block of Northeast First Avenue.

BSO district deputies, alongside Pompano Beach Fire Rescue, quickly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, deputies found Jacarey Love, a man who had been shot and was suffering from serious gunshot wounds. Deputies immediately began performing life-saving measures in an attempt to stabilize Love’s condition. Despite their efforts, Love was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

In addition to the fatality, a second man was also found injured. He was treated for a non-life-threatening injury and was taken to the hospital for medical care. While authorities are still piecing together the details surrounding this tragic event, BSO’s Homicide Unit detectives are actively investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing, and BSO is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
