Hollywood, Florida – Residents of Hollywood, Florida, should prepare for temporary disruptions as the City of Hollywood embarks on an important maintenance project near Arthur Street and North 11th Court. Starting June 2, 2025, and lasting until July 1, 2025, construction crews will be working to create a gravel access path, aimed at providing safe and effective maintenance of a nearby drainage ditch. Southeastern Engineering Contractors, Inc. has been contracted to carry out this vital project, which is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to maintain and improve infrastructure.

The work, which is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., will require certain traffic control measures. Temporary lane closures may be necessary to ensure public safety during the duration of the construction. Residents and motorists should be prepared for possible delays, and the City encourages everyone to remain alert for any changes in traffic patterns around the construction area.

One of the key things for residents to note is that parking in the work zone or placing personal items in the public right-of-way is prohibited. This is a precaution to avoid any damage, removal, or loss of vehicles or items during the maintenance work. Property owners in the affected area are encouraged to take the necessary steps to ensure that their belongings are cleared from the construction zone before the work begins. Items left behind may be subject to damage, removal, or even loss, and the owner would be held responsible for any associated costs.

While the work is expected to be completed within the outlined timeframe, city officials note that there could be the need for additional time or work depending on the conditions encountered during the project. If any changes arise that affect property owners or the general public, direct notifications will be provided to ensure that everyone remains informed.

City officials are grateful for the cooperation and understanding of residents as this necessary maintenance work is carried out. The improvements are crucial for the ongoing upkeep of the city’s infrastructure, particularly in maintaining a drainage system that helps protect local properties and roadways. The City of Hollywood assures residents that every effort will be made to minimize disruption during this process.

For any questions or additional information, residents are encouraged to reach out to the Department of Public Utilities at 954-921-4357. The City thanks everyone in advance for their patience and cooperation as these important upgrades take place.
