Fort Lauderdale, Florida – This summer, families across South Florida will get the chance to step into worlds filled with time-traveling DeLoreans, superhero puppies, YouTube adventurers, and interdimensional martial artists, thanks to the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Imagination Series at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts and The Parker. The much-anticipated event series is bringing classic stories and kid-favorite characters to the stage in a way that promises to entertain, educate, and inspire children of all ages.

The partnership between Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and the two premier Broward County venues is all about sparking imagination and joy through performance. For many children and families, these shows are more than entertainment—they’re meaningful moments that uplift, educate, and encourage curiosity in young minds.

“Every day we are making an impact on the lives of our patients,” said Caitlin Stella, CEO of Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. “Sponsoring this series broadens our reach by allowing us to bring enriching and educational experiences, that support overall healthy development, to children in our community.”

Kicking off the series in electrifying fashion is Back to the Future in Concert, set for Thursday, July 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the iconic Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center. This event isn’t just a film screening—it’s a cinematic experience backed by a live orchestra. Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the 1985 classic returns to the big screen in high definition while the South Florida Symphony Orchestra plays Alan Silvestri’s celebrated score in perfect sync with the film.

The thrill of seeing Marty McFly and Doc Brown race through time will be magnified by live music and new bonus material—nearly 20 minutes of original score added by Silvestri himself. And it doesn’t stop there. Guests arriving early can enjoy a nostalgic 1980s celebration in the theater’s lobby, complete with a real-life DeLorean, vintage arcade games, and a soundtrack full of retro hits. For fans of all ages, this is more than a movie—it’s a ride back in time.

The excitement continues on Sunday, July 6 at 3 p.m., when the Ninja Kidz leap from the screen to the stage in Ninja Kidz Live: Infinite Possibilities. Taking place once again in the Au-Rene Theater, this interactive show promises a one-of-a-kind adventure where the audience plays a starring role.

Through games, physical challenges, and unexpected plot twists, audience members will help determine the direction of the story—turning each performance into a completely unique experience. With epic battles, surprise choices, and family-friendly comedy, Ninja Kidz Live blends high-energy fun with the creativity of choose-your-own-adventure storytelling. Fans can take their experience even further by purchasing a VIP package, which includes a pre-show Q&A with the Ninja Kidz themselves.

Younger audiences—and their parents—can mark their calendars for a weekend of heroism and fun when PAW Patrol Live! A Mighty Adventure rolls into town on Saturday, August 16 and Sunday, August 17, with two shows daily at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Presented in collaboration with VStar Entertainment, the show transforms the Au-Rene Theater into Adventure City, where the Mighty Pups must save the day once again. This time, the villainous scientist Victoria Vance wants to steal the spotlight, and it’s up to Chase, Marshall, Skye, and the rest of the crew to stop her mischievous plans and keep the city’s biggest celebration going.

The production promises high-energy action, memorable songs, and heartwarming lessons about teamwork and positivity. Families can also enhance the experience with the Very Important Pup (V.I.P.) package, which includes premium seating, a photo opportunity with the characters, and a special souvenir item. Even the littlest fans won’t be left out—lap tickets are available for babies under 12 months.

Capping off the summer season is the brand-new live stage experience, Blippi: Join the Band Tour!, happening on Saturday, September 27 at 2 p.m. in the Broward Center’s Au-Rene Theater. The wildly popular YouTube star Blippi is inviting children to explore rhythm, melody, and movement in a concert-style show filled with sing-alongs and musical play.
The interactive performance is perfect for preschoolers and young children who know Blippi’s songs and lessons by heart. Designed to get kids moving and learning, the show is more than just entertainment—it’s a chance for young fans to experience their favorite character in a whole new, up-close-and-personal way.

The Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Imagination Series isn’t just about lights, music, and costumes. It’s about imagination. It’s about giving families a place to laugh together, learn together, and dream together. The partnership with Broward Center for the Performing Arts and The Parker brings meaningful, enriching experiences to children across the region—whether they’re hospital patients, young students, or simply kids who love a good story.

Behind the scenes, the series is also a reminder of the role the arts play in childhood development. Exposure to live performance boosts emotional growth, sparks creativity, and encourages social engagement—all essential components of healthy development.

And that’s precisely the mission of Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. As CEO Caitlin Stella put it, bringing these types of shows to the community helps children thrive not just physically, but emotionally and socially too.

Tickets for all events in the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Imagination Series are available through the Broward Center’s official website, its AutoNation Box Office, or by calling the venue directly. Early booking is highly recommended, especially for VIP packages and family bundle deals.

With so many engaging, interactive, and unforgettable performances packed into one thrilling series, South Florida families have plenty to look forward to this summer and beyond. Whether you’re a die-hard Back to the Future fan, a Ninja Kidz superfan, or a parent of a toddler who can’t stop singing the PAW Patrol theme, there’s something in the Imagination Series for everyone.

So get ready to press play on adventure—because at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Imagination Series, the curtain is rising on a season full of wonder.
