Pembroke Pines, Florida – The final weekend before school kicks off will be anything but ordinary in Pembroke Pines, thanks to a family-friendly event that promises to deliver splashes, smiles, and summer memories.

The City of Pembroke Pines is inviting residents of all ages to Splash in the Pines, a lively celebration of summer featuring water slides, foam-filled play zones, games, giveaways, and more. The event will take place on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at West Pines Soccer Park, 350 SW 196 Avenue.

Sponsored by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, this free event is designed to help families soak up the last bits of summer before school bells start ringing again. Whether you’re a toddler discovering the joys of a foam party or a parent looking to relax while the kids burn off some energy, there’s something for everyone.

Kids will get a chance to cool off in giant inflatable water slides, dive into splash-filled games, and swirl through sudsy foam. The event will also feature multiple giveaways, offering everything from back-to-school essentials to fun surprises.

“Splash in the Pines” isn’t just about fun—it’s about community. Pembroke Pines has long focused on bringing residents together, and this event is another way to help families reconnect after a long summer break.

And don’t worry about packing lunch—food trucks will be stationed at the park with refreshments available for purchase, offering a wide variety of bites to enjoy while taking in the day.

City officials are encouraging residents to stay in the loop about events like this by following Pembroke Pines on various platforms. “Stay Connected With The City!” reads a reminder on the city’s website. Residents can keep updated by subscribing to Pembroke Pines Media on YouTube, checking out NewsFlash (a monthly digital newsletter), reading City Connect (the city’s digital newspaper), or by following their official Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts @cityofppines.
