Davie Fire Rescue will host its first annual Teen Safety Night in August to provide teens with essential life-saving information

Davie, Florida – On Friday, August 8, 2025, Davie Fire Rescue will host its first-ever Teen Safety Night, an event aimed at providing teens with crucial safety information and hands-on skills. Scheduled to take place from 4 to 8 p.m. at 3801 S. Pine Island Road, this inaugural event is specifically designed for teens aged 14 to 18.
The event will feature a comprehensive lineup of sessions and seminars tailored to equip young people with the knowledge they need to stay safe in various aspects of life. Among the planned activities, Impact Teen Driving, presented by Safe Kids Broward, will address the dangers of distracted driving, offering teens essential tips for keeping the roads safer.
In addition to driving safety, Cyber Safety will be covered by Detective Adam Granit of the Davie Police Department. In today’s digital age, cyber threats are a growing concern, and this session will educate teens on how to stay safe online, avoid scams, and understand the risks that come with social media and other digital platforms.
Another critical focus of the event will be Opioid Overdose Awareness, presented by Robin Foundation Medical Students. With the opioid crisis affecting communities nationwide, this session will highlight how to recognize the signs of overdose and what steps to take if a teen or peer is in danger. It will also provide valuable information on prevention, intervention, and where to seek help.
To wrap up the evening, a Closing Seminar and Scholarship Opportunity will be led by Sarah Perry of the Aden Perry Good Samaritan and Scholarship Fund. This seminar will offer guidance on making safe and informed choices and will also feature an exciting scholarship opportunity for attendees.
Food will be provided for all registered participants, ensuring everyone has the chance to enjoy a meal while gaining essential safety knowledge. Pre-registration is required for this event, and the first 50 individuals to sign up will receive a gift bag as a special thank-you for their participation. Registration will close on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11 a.m., so teens are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spot.
Students who attend the event will also be eligible to receive service hours for their participation. To ensure they receive these hours, students must bring their school forms to be signed by an event representative. The event is free of charge, but those planning to attend should arrive between 4 and 4:30 p.m. to check in and begin the experience.
For further details, individuals can contact the Davie Community Provider at 954-797-1842 or email at [email protected]. Teens can also find more information and register online at www.davie-fl.gov/TeenSafetyNight. This event promises to be a valuable and empowering opportunity for local teens to learn life-saving skills, all while gaining insight into important safety topics that could make a difference in their lives.
