Pembroke Pines, Florida – Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) Missing Persons Unit are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 17-year-old Anthony Gonzalez Tovar, who was reported missing earlier this week.

Tovar was last seen at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, at Franklin Academy, located at 5000 S.W. 207th Terrace in Pembroke Pines. According to investigators, his parents immediately contacted BSO Weston District deputies to report him missing, prompting a coordinated search effort by law enforcement.

Authorities describe Tovar as approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing around 160 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was reportedly wearing a dark blue shirt and blue pants.

Detectives emphasize that community awareness is crucial in cases like this. “We are asking anyone who may have seen Anthony or knows anything about his whereabouts to come forward,” said a BSO spokesperson. Law enforcement believes that tips from the public could be instrumental in safely locating him.

Residents who have information are urged to contact BSO Detective Chris Blankenship directly at 954-321-4268 or call the BSO non-emergency line at 954-764-HELP (4357). Authorities stress that even small details could provide critical leads in the investigation.

The BSO Missing Persons Unit continues to coordinate search efforts across the area and is actively working with local schools, community groups, and neighboring law enforcement agencies. “Our top priority is ensuring Anthony’s safe return,” the spokesperson added.

Anthony Gonzalez Tovar remains a high priority for investigators, and law enforcement hopes that public support will lead to a quick and safe resolution.
