Florida Lottery launches new public service announcements to raise awareness about the Bright Futures Scholarship

Tallahassee, Florida – The Florida Lottery has unveiled a new series of Public Service Announcements (PSAs) aimed at raising awareness of the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program and the opportunities it provides to students across the state. The campaign features four PSAs, including two in English and two in Spanish, all designed to inspire students and families to explore how the scholarship can help them pursue higher education and vocational training. These announcements will be broadcast statewide on television and radio, as well as shared widely across the Florida Lottery’s social media channels.

The Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program, funded by proceeds from Florida Lottery ticket sales, has been a cornerstone of the state’s education support system for decades. Since its inception, the program has enabled more than 1 million students to pursue post-secondary education, providing critical financial assistance for tuition and educational expenses. The new PSAs highlight the program’s continuing impact and aim to motivate students to stay on track academically while reminding families of the significant opportunities the scholarship offers.

“Every time someone plays a Florida Lottery game, they are helping create brighter futures for students across the state,” said Florida Lottery Secretary John F. Davis. “These PSAs remind families that the path to college or vocational school may be closer than they think, and we encourage all eligible students to apply.”

The bilingual nature of the PSA campaign underscores the Lottery’s commitment to reaching a diverse audience across the state. The series is designed not only to raise awareness of eligibility requirements but also to highlight the importance of academic preparation and family involvement in the scholarship process. By presenting information in both English and Spanish, the Florida Lottery ensures that more families can understand and take advantage of the educational opportunities available through the Bright Futures Program.

The PSAs also emphasize the financial benefits of the scholarship. For many students and families, the Bright Futures Scholarship can significantly reduce the cost of tuition and, in some cases, cover it entirely. The campaign conveys that the scholarship is more than just financial aid; it is a pathway to achieving personal and professional goals. Through these messages, the Florida Lottery hopes to encourage students to remain engaged in their studies and to consider a wide range of post-secondary options, from traditional college programs to vocational training.

The Florida Lottery has made the entire PSA series available online for public access and use. Students, families, educators, schools, and community organizations are encouraged to share the content to help raise awareness and ensure that students know about the scholarship opportunities available to them. By providing these resources, the Florida Lottery aims to engage communities across the state and support educational advancement for all students. In addition to raising awareness, the campaign is intended to simplify the process of learning about eligibility and application requirements, making it easier for students to take the first step toward higher education.
