Pompano Beach, Florida – Pompano Beach is gearing up for an energetic morning as the city prepares to officially unveil its newest recreational addition: a full set of eight pickleball courts at Sgt. Kip Jacoby Park. The grand opening takes place on Wednesday, December 3rd at 10:00 a.m., marking a milestone for a community that has steadily embraced one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.

City officials say the new courts represent both a response to rising local interest and an investment in more accessible outdoor activities. “Get ready to grab your paddles, Pompano Beach! The City is excited to celebrate the grand opening of eight brand-new pickleball courts at Sgt. Kip Jacoby Park, 620 S Cypress Road, and we’re serving up a ribbon-cutting ceremony you won’t want to miss.” The lively announcement captures the tone city leaders hope to set—a welcoming space where residents of all ages can gather, play, and stay active.

Pickleball has quickly expanded from a niche pastime to a widely loved sport, mixing elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong into a game that’s easy to learn and fun to watch. Cities across the country have been racing to build new courts, and Pompano Beach is joining that movement with significant enthusiasm. “Pickleball is sweeping the nation, and Pompano Beach is joining the fun in a big way. Whether you’re a seasoned pro, a curious beginner, or just here for the good vibes, these new courts offer the perfect place to play, socialize, and get hooked on one of America’s fastest-growing sports.”

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will serve as both a celebration and an introduction. Attendees can expect remarks from city officials, a chance to see the new courts up close, and a warm atmosphere fueled by community pride. As stated in the announcement, “Join us for a ribbon-cutting celebration featuring remarks from City officials, plenty of community spirit, and light refreshments to keep the energy high. Come by, check out the new courts, and see how Pompano Beach is rallying behind this popular sport.”

Sgt. Kip Jacoby Park, located at 620 S Cypress Road, has long been a central neighborhood space, and the addition of pickleball courts brings new life to the area. The open-air setting and convenient location make it a natural fit for residents looking for a place to unwind, get moving, or try something new. The sport’s social nature means the courts are likely to become an active hub throughout the year.
