Pompano Beach, Florida – This February and March, the Pompano Beach Cultural Center is rolling out a lineup of performances that promises to entertain, inspire, and captivate audiences of all tastes. From laugh-out-loud comedies and soul-stirring musical tributes to clever storytelling and mind-bending illusions, these four upcoming shows offer a rich mix of heart, humor, and spectacle. Whether you are a fan of musical theater, classic hits, sharp-witted comedy, or world-class magic, there is something for everyone in this exciting season.

Kicking off the series is the Pompano Players’ production of First Date, running February 6 through 15 with tickets priced at $55. This fast-paced musical comedy explores the unpredictable and often chaotic world of blind dating. When Aaron, a straight-laced professional, meets Casey, a bold serial dater, at a New York City restaurant, their first encounter quickly escalates into a night full of awkward, hilarious, and unexpected moments.

In First Date, the audience gets an inside look at Aaron and Casey’s internal thoughts brought to life through a cast of supporting characters who embody overprotective parents, manipulative exes, and cheerleader-style best friends. Meanwhile, a meddling waiter and the omnipresence of social media further complicate the evening. The musical cleverly blends humor and heart, reminding viewers that love often appears when we least expect it.

Next on the schedule is Ladies of Simone: A Tribute to Nina Simone, set for February 20 from 7:00 to 8:45 PM, with tickets available for $25. This one-night-only performance celebrates the legendary singer, pianist, and civil rights activist Nina Simone. Featuring extraordinary vocalists Toddra Brunson, Deana Butler-Rahming, Ja’Nia Harden, and Sarah Gracel, the show transports audiences through Simone’s most iconic eras.

Expect soulful renditions of classics such as “I Loves You, Porgy,” “Sinnerman,” and “To Be Young, Gifted, and Black.” The performance is designed to be both emotional and uplifting, offering longtime fans and newcomers alike a chance to experience Simone’s artistry and activism in a live, intimate setting. It promises to be an evening that resonates with passion, elegance, and historical significance.

In March, the Pompano Players return with Boca, running March 13 through 22, again with tickets at $55. This bright and witty comedy is set in the Boca Oasis retirement community, where life is far from quiet. Residents navigate romance, rivalry, tennis matches, game-night drama, and the occasional revelation at happy hour.

Boca is told through interwoven vignettes that explore themes of love, reinvention, and friendship during life’s so-called “golden years.” With humor that is both heartwarming and clever, the show demonstrates that fun knows no age limit and that second acts can sometimes be the most thrilling. It is a celebration of life, laughter, and the connections that define us, making it a perfect choice for audiences of all ages.

Closing out the lineup on March 27 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM is internationally acclaimed magician and mentalist Joel Meyers, with tickets priced at $25. Meyers has amazed audiences worldwide, appearing on America’s Got Talent, FakeOff, Masters of Illusion, and Penn & Teller: Fool Us. His high-energy show combines jaw-dropping illusions, sharp humor, and remarkable charisma.
