Broward County, Florida – Detectives in Broward County are investigating a brazen shooting that sent shockwaves through a quiet Lauderdale Lakes neighborhood after more than two dozen rounds were fired into an occupied home earlier this month. Authorities are now turning to the public for help as they work to identify and locate the suspect responsible.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened on December 10 at approximately 7:57 a.m. Broward County Regional Communications began receiving calls reporting gunfire near the 4400 block of Northwest 43rd Court. Deputies from BSO and crews from Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue rushed to the scene within minutes.

When first responders arrived, they learned that an unknown individual had fired multiple shots into a residence that was occupied at the time. The volume of gunfire caused significant concern for both residents and nearby neighbors, many of whom were beginning their morning routines when the shots rang out.

Surveillance video has become a key part of the investigation. Detectives say footage shows a white Mercedes SUV driving past the targeted home several times before the shooting occurred. At two different points, the vehicle is seen parking a few houses away from the residence. The driver then exits the SUV and runs toward the back of the home.

Investigators say the suspect was dressed entirely in black, wearing a black hoodie pulled over his head. Once positioned behind the residence, the individual fired more than two dozen rounds into the home. After the shooting, the suspect ran back to the Mercedes SUV and fled the area.

Despite the intensity of the gunfire, detectives confirmed that no one inside the home was seriously injured. Even so, authorities emphasized that the situation could have ended much differently and are treating the case as a serious act of violence.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit is continuing to analyze surveillance footage and gather evidence. Detectives believe the white Mercedes SUV and the suspect’s clothing may be key details that could help someone recognize the individual involved.

Investigators are urging anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area that morning or who recognizes the vehicle to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Violent Crimes Det. Brandon Palmer at 954-321-5008 or submit a tip through the SaferWatch app.

Those who wish to remain anonymous and still be eligible for a cash reward can contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online at browardcrimestoppers.org. Tipsters may also dial **TIPS (8477) from any cellphone in the United States.

Detectives say even small details could prove crucial as they work to bring accountability in a case that left a neighborhood shaken and searching for answers.
