South Florida hospitals celebrate the arrival of the first babies born in the New Year 2026

Baby Isaiah entered the world at 12:16 a.m., weighing 6 pounds, 1.7 ounces, and measuring 19 inches long. Both Isaiah and his mother, Donnica Hayes, were reported to be in good health and adjusting well to the exciting new chapter in their lives. Hospital staff celebrated the delivery with the kind of energy that only a New Year’s birth can bring, making the early morning hours a little brighter for everyone involved.
Not long after, Baptist Health in South Miami recorded its first birth of 2026 at 12:41 a.m. Baby Sienna was born weighing 8 pounds, 2 ounces, and measuring 19.6 inches long. Sienna and her mother were said to be resting comfortably, with hospital staff noting that both were doing well. “It’s always special to welcome the first babies of the New Year,” said a hospital spokesperson. “These little ones bring joy not just to their families, but to the entire community.”
