Pompano Beach, Florida – The Pompano Players are bringing the 1960s back to life with their upcoming production of Beehive The 60’s Musical, a high-energy tribute to the powerful female voices that defined a transformative decade. This musical revue, packed with soul, heart, and unforgettable hits, promises to transport audiences to an era of style, change, and unforgettable music.

Told from the perspective of six young women coming of age in the 1960s, Beehive explores the personal and social awakenings of a generation. From their first Beehive Dance to the broader cultural and political shifts of the era, the musical captures the spirit of a decade that was defined by change and empowerment. The narrative celebrates female strength while giving audiences a glimpse into the hopes, struggles, and triumphs of young women during a pivotal time in history.

The show features more than 40 iconic songs, making it a nonstop celebration of the music that shaped the 60s. Audiences can expect to hear classics such as “My Boyfriend’s Back,” “Son of a Preacher Man,” and “You Don’t Own Me,” as well as “The Name Game,” “River Deep,” “Natural Woman,” “One Fine Day,” “To Sir With Love,” “It’s My Party,” “Where The Boys Are,” “Make Your Own Kind Of Music,” “Be My Baby,” and “Somebody to Love.” The production honors legends like Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, and Janis Joplin, giving the performers a chance to channel the energy, emotion, and soul of these musical icons.

Showtimes for Beehive The 60’s Musical are scheduled across two weeks in January. Week one performances include Thursday, January 9 at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, January 10 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday, January 11 at 2:00 p.m. Week two includes Thursday, January 16 at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, January 17 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday, January 18 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets and additional information can be found on the Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs website.
