Man shot and killed in unincorporated Central Broward in late night incident under investigation by Broward Sheriff’s Office
Broward County, Florida – A man was fatally shot Monday night in unincorporated Central Broward, and authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deadly incident. Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) Homicide Unit detectives have taken the lead in the ongoing investigation.
The shooting occurred around 9:42 p.m. on Jan. 19, near the 900 block of Northwest 24th Avenue. According to investigators, BSO deputies were dispatched to the area following a ShotSpotter alert indicating gunfire. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies discovered an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim was later identified as 35-year-old Nathaniel Forrest. Deputies immediately began performing life-saving measures at the scene before he was transported by Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue to Broward Health Medical Center. Despite efforts to save him, Forrest was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Detectives with the BSO Crime Scene and Homicide Units responded to collect evidence and investigate the circumstances of the shooting. Officials have not released information about possible suspects or a motive at this time.
