Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) are asking the public to assist in locating 15-year-old Gerald Taylor, who has been reported missing.

Taylor was last seen on Wednesday, Jan. 21, near the 1800 block of Southwest Fifth Place in Fort Lauderdale. Authorities describe him as approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing around 135 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. At this time, there is no indication of the circumstances surrounding his disappearance, and detectives are urging anyone who may have seen him or has relevant information to come forward immediately.

“Every minute counts when a teenager goes missing,” said BSO representatives. “We are committed to locating Gerald quickly and safely, and we need the community’s help to bring him home.”

The Missing Persons Unit is coordinating the search and has encouraged residents to be vigilant and report any sightings or tips. Law enforcement emphasizes that even small pieces of information can be crucial in helping locate a missing teen.

Anyone with information about Taylor’s whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Leonard Charla at 954-321-4274. Alternatively, tips can be submitted through the BSO non-emergency line at 954-764-HELP (4357). Authorities stress that the call can remain confidential.

BSO continues to investigate leads and is working with local schools, community organizations, and social media outlets to spread awareness. Flyers and alerts have been distributed throughout the Fort Lauderdale area, and the sheriff’s office has requested that anyone who interacts with teenagers or youth in the area keep an eye out for Taylor.

Detectives are hopeful that with swift action and community assistance, Taylor will be found and returned to his family safely.
