Weston celebrates 30 years with a series of engaging events and activities planned throughout April for the entire community
Weston, Florida – In 2026, the City of Weston proudly marks its 30th anniversary, celebrating three decades of thoughtful growth, community engagement, and strong civic values. To commemorate this milestone, the City has planned a series of special activities throughout the year, from historical features and interactive exhibits to tribute videos and exclusive giveaways at local events. Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to join the festivities and take part in the celebrations that honor Weston’s rich past and promising future.
“The 30th anniversary reflects thirty years of careful planning, responsible growth, and community values that have shaped Weston into the exceptional city we call home,” said a City spokesperson. “This milestone gives us a chance to look back on our shared history while looking ahead to an even brighter future.”
Throughout April, the City has planned a series of events designed to appeal to families, students, and residents of all ages. At these gatherings, attendees can stop by the City of Weston tent to receive a limited-edition Weston 30 commemorative pin, a keepsake celebrating the City’s three-decade journey. Additionally, visitors to City Hall can take a selfie with a giant “30” display featuring historical photographs and explore an interactive timeline highlighting key moments in Weston’s history.
The month kicks off with one of the most eagerly anticipated family events: the Weston Royal Egg Hunt. Scheduled for Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to noon at Regional Park, the hunt will feature more than 40,000 colorful eggs for children ages 10 and under. Families are encouraged to arrive no later than 9:15 a.m. to secure a prime spot for the fun-filled morning. The event has become a staple of Weston’s spring calendar, bringing children, parents, and volunteers together for a day of excitement and community spirit.
Film enthusiasts have a unique opportunity on April 13 to attend the Weston Foreign Film Series at AMC Weston 8. Showtimes are scheduled at 4:45 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and this month’s feature is My Father’s Violin, a Turkish film presented with English subtitles. The series offers residents a chance to experience diverse storytelling and explore global cultures from the comfort of their own community.
Earth Day, the Weston Way, will take place on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Library Park. This family-friendly event focuses on sustainability, conservation, and community engagement. Attendees can enjoy educational booths, interactive hands-on activities, storytelling, and live music while learning about environmentally friendly practices. The event provides an opportunity for residents to come together, celebrate the planet, and explore practical ways to support local conservation initiatives.
On the same day, Cypress Bay High School will host Family Autism Day from 10 a.m. to noon. This event is designed to raise awareness about autism, promote inclusion, and offer resources and support for families in the community. Activities include educational sessions, interactive workshops, and opportunities for families to connect and learn from each other in a supportive environment.
The month wraps up with the Household Hazardous Waste Disposal & Electronics Recycling Event on Sunday, April 26, at the Public Works Services Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents are encouraged to bring items that cannot be disposed of in regular trash or bulk pickup. Simply drive up, and crews will safely remove and process items such as old electronics, batteries, chemicals, and other hazardous household materials, making it convenient for residents to responsibly manage waste while protecting the environment.
