Pembroke Pines celebrates its 66th birthday with Pines Day festival featuring music, rides, and community fun
Pembroke Pines, Florida – The City of Pembroke Pines is set to mark a major milestone this spring, celebrating its 66th birthday with a full day of family-friendly activities, entertainment, and community spirit. Pines Day 2026 will take place on Saturday, April 25, from 5 pm to 9 pm at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way.
This year, Pines Day takes on special significance as it coincides with the nation’s 250th anniversary of independence. The city has embraced this historic milestone with the theme “Route 66: The Road to 250…66 Years of Legacy. 250 Years of Freedom. One Road Ahead.” The theme reflects both the city’s own journey and the broader celebration of American history, connecting Pembroke Pines’ growth with the nation’s enduring legacy.
Attendees can look forward to a variety of attractions designed to appeal to all ages. One highlight is the Generation of Wheels Car Show, which will showcase both show cars and toy cars, offering a nostalgic and interactive experience for car enthusiasts of all ages. At 6 pm, the community will gather on the plaza for the ceremonial birthday cake cutting and cupcake rollout, a festive moment to honor the city’s history and progress.
From 5 pm to 8:30 pm, the event will feature arts and crafts stations as well as interactive activities through the New Pin Collective Activation, giving children and families opportunities to create, explore, and engage in hands-on fun. Musical performances on stage will provide a lively soundtrack throughout the evening, while DJ Felix Sama will keep the energy high with a mix of dance tunes to keep the celebration moving.
For families looking for classic fairground experiences, Pines Day will also include complimentary popcorn, cotton candy, face painting, a free roller rink, amusement rides, and “refueling stations” with food and refreshments. Food trucks will be on site offering a variety of tasty options, ensuring there’s something for everyone. As part of the patriotic theme, new flag banners will be installed around City Center to mark the city’s participation in the year-long national celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
Pines Day is generously sponsored by Memorial Healthcare System, Naidu Orthodontics, American Pediatric Dental Group, and the Charles F. Dodge City Center. The event is free and open to the public, reflecting the city’s commitment to building community connections and celebrating its residents.
