Plantation, Florida – A New York headquartered commercial law firm is expanding its Florida presence with a new addition to its legal team, signaling continued growth in its trusts and estates practice.

Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP has announced the arrival of attorney Raquel E. Tomas, who joins the firm as an associate in its Plantation office. Her appointment strengthens the firm’s Trusts & Estates practice, an area that covers a wide range of legal services tied to planning, managing, and resolving estate matters.

The firm, which has steadily grown its footprint across multiple states, continues to build out its capabilities in Florida as demand rises for specialized legal services in estate planning and related fields. Tomas’ arrival fits into that broader strategy of expanding expertise while maintaining a focus on client service and technical legal knowledge.

“We are delighted to welcome Raquel to our growing team of attorneys,” said Michael Cardello III, Managing Partner. “Her addition reflects the firm’s dedication to recruiting top legal professionals, and we look forward to her continued success and growth at MHH.”

The statement reflects the firm’s ongoing emphasis on strengthening its talent base. For Moritt Hock & Hamroff, recruitment in specialized practice areas such as trusts and estates is part of a longer-term effort to meet the needs of individuals and businesses navigating increasingly complex legal and financial planning issues.

Tomas brings a focused practice background to her new role. Her work covers estate planning, elder law, estate and trust administration, and trust and estate litigation. These areas often require careful attention to detail, as they involve both financial structures and deeply personal family considerations.

Before joining the firm, Tomas worked at a boutique trusts and estates practice in Florida. That experience gave her exposure to a wide range of client matters, particularly in a state where estate planning needs are shaped by diverse populations, retirement communities, and cross-border financial considerations.

Her transition to a larger, multi-state law firm represents a new phase in her legal career. At Moritt Hock & Hamroff, she will be working within a broader platform that includes attorneys across New York City, Long Island, and Florida, offering access to a wide range of legal disciplines and collaborative resources.

Founded in 1980, Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP is a 100-attorney full service commercial law firm that provides legal services to businesses, corporations, and individuals. With offices spanning multiple regions, the firm has built a reputation for handling complex commercial and private client matters.

The addition of Tomas comes at a time when law firms are increasingly focused on strengthening specialized practice groups. Trusts and estates law, in particular, continues to evolve as clients seek more comprehensive strategies for wealth transfer, asset protection, and long-term financial planning.

While the firm did not outline specific expansion plans tied to this hiring, the move reflects a steady pattern of growth and investment in key practice areas. For clients, it signals continued access to legal professionals equipped to handle both traditional estate matters and more complex, modern planning needs.

For Tomas, the new role represents an opportunity to deepen her practice within a larger legal environment while contributing to a firm that has maintained a multi-decade presence in the commercial legal sector.
