Tallahassee, Florida – A late-night gathering outside Legacy Suites in Tallahassee turned violent after gunfire erupted during what authorities described as an “unsanctioned pop-up party,” leaving three people injured and sparking an active investigation that is still unfolding.

According to the Tallahassee Police Department, officers were called to the apartment complex area just before 5 a.m. after reports of shots fired near the off-campus housing location that is commonly associated with Florida State University students. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a chaotic situation and evidence of a large crowd that had gathered in a parking garage at 411 Chapel Drive.

One man was discovered with life-threatening injuries and was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Authorities have not released additional details about his current condition. Two other adult male victims later showed up at local hospitals on their own, both suffering injuries that were described as not life-threatening.

Investigators believe the shooting happened during a gathering that was not authorized, which police referred to as an “unsanctioned pop-up party.” The event reportedly drew a large number of people into the parking garage before the situation escalated into gunfire. Officials have not confirmed what led to the shooting or how the confrontation began.

The Tallahassee Police Department said the investigation remains open and active. At this stage, no suspect has been taken into custody. A department spokesperson noted that investigators may be looking for more than one person in connection with the shooting, suggesting that multiple individuals could have been involved in the incident.

Authorities are now urging anyone who was present at the gathering or who may have information about what happened to come forward. Detectives are working to piece together the sequence of events, including reviewing witness statements and any available video footage from the area.

The shooting has raised renewed concerns about large unsanctioned gatherings near student housing areas, especially those that take place late at night or in the early morning hours. For now, police say they are focused on identifying those responsible and understanding how a crowded event in a residential parking garage escalated into violence so quickly.

As the investigation continues, officials have not released any suspect descriptions, and no further updates on the victims’ conditions have been provided.
