Pompano Beach City Commission to hold major FY 2027 budget workshop on July 20 at City Commission Chambers
Pompano Beach, Florida – The Pompano Beach City Commission will meet next week for a special budget presentation and workshop as city officials begin discussions on the recommended spending plan for Fiscal Year 2027.
The meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 20, at 9:00 a.m. and will take place in the City Commission Chambers at 100 West Atlantic Boulevard. The workshop will provide commissioners with an opportunity to review the proposed budget, discuss financial priorities, and consider plans for the upcoming fiscal year.
During the meeting, city staff will present the recommended FY 2027 budget and provide details about the financial plan. Commissioners will review the proposal and take part in discussions about how funding should be allocated across city services, projects, and programs.
The budget workshop is an important step in the city’s annual budget process, allowing elected officials to examine projected expenses, revenue plans, and major investments before final decisions are made.
Following the budget presentation and public input portion of the meeting, the City Commission will take a short recess lasting 30 minutes. After the break, commissioners will continue discussions in the Front Conference Room of the Cultural Center, located on the first floor at 50 West Atlantic Boulevard.
The second part of the workshop will focus on several key financial topics, including the recommended FY 2027 Millage Rates, capital improvement projects, Fire Assessment Fees, and additional budget-related matters.
The millage rate discussion will help guide decisions regarding property tax funding, while conversations about capital improvement projects will focus on future investments in city infrastructure and long-term community needs. Commissioners will also review Fire Assessment Fees and how they support fire-related services.
City officials hold budget workshops each year to provide transparency and allow detailed conversations about financial planning. The meetings give commissioners the chance to ask questions, evaluate recommendations, and hear public feedback before the final budget is approved.
Residents interested in the city’s financial plans and priorities are encouraged to attend the workshop and follow the discussions as Pompano Beach prepares its budget for the 2027 fiscal year.
