Man arrested after string of liquor thefts at Oakland Park stores as BSO searches for two others

Oakland Park, Florida – A 33-year-old man has been arrested after investigators linked him to a series of liquor thefts at ABC Fine Wine & Spirits stores in Oakland Park, while Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives continue looking for two other people believed to be involved.

According to BSO, Kendrick Wallace is accused of taking bottles of alcohol from stores at least eight times during June and July. Investigators said the incidents followed a similar pattern, with the suspects entering a liquor store, taking bottles and leaving without paying.

The repeated thefts eventually led detectives to Wallace, who was identified as a suspect during the investigation. He was arrested on July 30 and booked into the BSO Main Jail.

Wallace is facing several charges, including multiple retail theft offenses within a specified period and second-degree petit theft, according to the sheriff’s office.

Detectives say the investigation did not end with Wallace’s arrest. Authorities believe he may have been working with two other individuals, and BSO has released surveillance footage from several of the reported thefts in an effort to identify them.

The video reportedly shows Wallace with the two additional suspects during some of the incidents. Investigators are now asking members of the public to look closely at the footage and provide information that could help identify the remaining individuals.

The thefts took place during June and July, and investigators are also looking into whether the same group may have been responsible for similar incidents at other liquor stores.

BSO said Wallace and the other people may have targeted additional businesses elsewhere in Broward County. As a result, detectives are asking store owners or employees who believe their businesses may have been victims to contact authorities.

The case highlights the value of surveillance footage in investigations involving repeated retail thefts. In this instance, detectives were able to identify one suspect after reviewing information connected to multiple incidents, while the search continues for the other two people.

Authorities have not indicated how many bottles were taken in total or provided an estimated dollar value for all of the reported losses. The investigation remains active as detectives work to determine whether the suspects are connected to other thefts.
