Pompano Beach, Florida – The Pompano Beach City Commission will hold two special meetings later this month as city officials move toward finalizing the budget and tax rates for fiscal year 2027.

The special City Commission meetings will be held on Monday, September 14, and Wednesday, September 23. Both meetings are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the City Commission Chambers, located at 100 West Atlantic Boulevard.

The first meeting will focus on several key financial decisions for the upcoming fiscal year. During the September 14 budget hearing, commissioners are expected to adopt tentative millage rate resolutions for FY 2027.

The commission will also consider tentative budgets for the City of Pompano Beach and the EMS Special District. Another item on the agenda will be the final fire assessment fees for fiscal year 2027.

These decisions will form part of the city’s budget process before the final figures and tax rates are approved later in the month.

A second special budget hearing is scheduled for September 23. At that meeting, commissioners will take up the final versions of the financial measures discussed during the first hearing.

The City Commission will formally adopt the final millage rate resolutions for FY 2027. Commissioners will also vote on the final budgets for the City and the EMS Special District.

The second hearing will include another major planning item as well. Commissioners will consider adoption of the FY 2027–2031 Capital Improvement Plan, which covers the city’s planned capital improvements over a five-year period.

Holding the two hearings gives the commission separate opportunities to review and approve the city’s financial plans for the coming year. The first meeting will deal with tentative rates and budgets, while the second is set to complete the process with final adoptions.

Both meetings will take place at the same location and begin at the same time, making it possible for residents interested in the city’s finances to attend the hearings and follow the budget process.
