Pembroke Pines announces free BooVille Halloween celebration on October 28 with tickets now available for local families
Pembroke Pines, Florida – The City of Pembroke Pines is inviting local families to celebrate Halloween at BooVille, a free community event featuring costume competitions, trick-or-treating, live entertainment, and activities for children of all ages.
Organized in partnership with Baptist Health, the Halloween celebration will take place on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way in Pembroke Pines.
Although admission is free, the event is exclusively for Pembroke Pines residents, and tickets must be obtained in advance.
City officials announced that tickets are now available, but quantities are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Families planning to attend are encouraged to secure their tickets early to avoid missing the celebration.
BooVille will offer a variety of Halloween-themed attractions designed to provide a festive evening for children and their families.
Among the featured activities will be an interactive character sing-along with the Pumpkin King and Patchwork Queen, giving young attendees an opportunity to enjoy music and participate in the entertainment.
The two characters will also be available for a special meet-and-greet, allowing families to interact with them and take memorable photographs.
Another attraction will be the Moonlight Movie Theater, where guests can enjoy a movie experience during the evening.
Small bags of popcorn will be available for moviegoers while supplies last.
Children can also participate in trick-or-treating at multiple sponsor booths, where candy and toys will be distributed.
Inflatable bounce houses will provide additional entertainment, while food trucks will offer a selection of refreshments and treats for purchase.
Photo opportunities will be available throughout the event, giving families several ways to capture memories of their Halloween celebration.
One of the main attractions of the evening will be the BooVille Costume Contest, which encourages guests to arrive wearing their favorite Halloween outfits.
Participants can dress as their preferred characters or choose other creative costumes for the celebration.
Rather than requiring contestants to gather immediately at a designated location, roaming judges will move through the event and select 50 finalists from the crowd.
Those selected will advance to the final judging, which will take place on stage.
The final round and announcement of the winners are scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The competition will give attendees an opportunity to showcase their costumes while adding another element of excitement to the Halloween festivities.
Residents interested in attending BooVille must pick up their tickets in person before the event.
To receive tickets, individuals must provide proof that they live in Pembroke Pines, including a valid driver’s license and a utility bill.
Tickets cannot be obtained without meeting the residency requirements, and availability is limited.
Residents can collect tickets at the Pembroke Lakes Tennis Center, located at 10500 Taft Street.
The facility distributes tickets Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A second ticket distribution location is the TownGate Recreation Center at 901 NW 155th Avenue.
The city’s announcement lists weekday hours for TownGate as 9:30 a.m. to 8 a.m., which appears inconsistent. Residents are encouraged to confirm the correct weekday hours with the city before visiting. Weekend hours are listed as 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Because tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, residents should not assume that admission will remain available closer to October 28.
Pembroke Pines has also established several rules intended to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for families attending BooVille.
Pets will not be permitted at the event.
Guests older than 12 will not be allowed to wear face-covering masks, although Halloween costumes are encouraged.
Additionally, all children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the celebration.
The city hopes the event will bring residents together for an evening of Halloween activities in a welcoming community setting.
Businesses and organizations interested in sponsorship opportunities, as well as residents seeking additional event information, can contact the Pembroke Pines Special Events Office at 954-392-2116.
