UKG expands its Frontline Worker Network with Cash App to offer more financial support
Fort Lauderdale, Florida – UKG is expanding its Frontline Worker Network with the addition of Cash App, bringing more financial services into the tools employees already use for work, pay and communication. The move builds on the company’s effort to make everyday support easier for frontline workers to reach, whether they are waiting for payday, managing their earnings or preparing a tax return.
The network brings together selected partners through UKG’s Workforce Operating Platform, which combines HR, payroll and workforce management. With Cash App joining providers already in the network, UKG is broadening the services available to employees while giving employers another way to support their workforce beyond traditional benefits.
For UKG, the expansion draws on a large customer base. The company serves more than 65 million workers and over 80,000 organizations across more than 150 countries, including two-thirds of the Fortune 1000. UKG says that reach gives it insight into the points where job responsibilities, financial pressures and everyday needs meet.
Those needs can be straightforward but important, from spending less on groceries to building credit or receiving a tax refund earlier. The network’s approach is to connect employees with relevant services through the UKG experience they already use, making that support part of their normal work routine.
“UKG is the center of gravity for frontline workforce operations, and that gives us an opportunity to support workers beyond the traditional boundaries of HR and benefits administration,” said Suresh Vittal, Executive Vice President and Chief Product Officer at UKG. “Through the Frontline Worker Network, we are bringing trusted services directly to employees in the flow of work — before, during, or after pay day, and through mobile tools like UKG Talk that help frontline teams stay connected.”
Launched in 2025, the Frontline Worker Network is described by UKG as a value-add experience for all its customers. It is available to customer employees and is intended to make services from participating providers easier to access at scale.
The company has organized its expansion around different moments in workers’ financial lives. Rather than beginning only with an employer’s benefits offering, the network focuses on when employees need help and how they can reach it. That includes the gap between paychecks, the arrival of wages and the annual process of filing taxes.
Between paydays, an unexpected expense can create a problem even when someone has already worked enough hours to cover it. UKG points to Bankrate findings showing that just 46% of U.S. adults have enough savings to pay for three months of expenses. That leaves many without that level of financial cushion when bills arrive or plans change.

Through network partners Payactiv and ZayZoon, frontline employees can access earned wages between scheduled paydays. The service addresses the timing of income and expenses, giving workers access to money they have earned when a bill or an unexpected cost cannot wait until their next paycheck.
For employers, offering that flexibility can also help distinguish their workplace in a difficult hiring market. Kayla Linn, Chief People Officer at Eventide | Tabitha, described earned wage access as a response to employee needs and a way to offer something less common locally.
“In a world where recruitment and retention is in a totally different market than it’s ever been, and it’s tougher than it’s ever been, earned wage access is something that we know employees want,” said Linn. “It isn’t something that’s very commonly offered in our market. We wanted to be different and provide more to our employees than we ever have before, when financial situations arise.”
On payday itself, the network focuses on helping employees receive and manage their money. According to FDIC information cited in the announcement, nearly one in five U.S. households are in underbanked or unbanked communities. Access to accounts and direct deposit is therefore another part of the support UKG is seeking to provide.
Providers including OnePay and Cash App help workers set up accounts and direct deposit through the network. UKG says these connections can make access to pay faster and easier, while allowing employees to manage their everyday money in one place.
Tax season presents a different need. The IRS says a federal tax refund is often one of the largest cash inflows an employee receives during the year. Services such as Cash App Taxes are intended to simplify filing, including through the use of W-2 information available in UKG to help workers complete returns more quickly and accurately.
The announcement also connects financial support with workplace performance. Research from PwC in 2026 found that financially stressed employees are five times more likely to be distracted at work, while 57% of employees identified finances as their leading source of stress in life.

Those findings help explain why employers may view financial flexibility as more than an additional benefit. UKG sees an opportunity for organizations to improve attendance, engagement, retention and workforce stability when employees face fewer everyday financial barriers.
“Our research with thousands of frontline workers shows that many feel their needs are not met as fully as those of office-based employees,” said Ben Eubanks, Chief Research Officer at Lighthouse Research & Advisory. “UKG’s Frontline Worker Network is designed to help close that gap by connecting workers with meaningful support — benefiting employees and helping employers attract, engage and retain the frontline talent their businesses depend on.”
Tools such as UKG Talk provide another connection between these services and employees’ daily routines. By placing support within familiar work and communication experiences, UKG aims to give frontline workers easier access to practical help. The addition of Cash App extends that effort across receiving wages, managing money and filing taxes, while broadening the support employers can make available through UKG.
