Broward reports $318.5 million in investment as companies expand and add jobs
Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Company relocations and expansions generated more than $318.5 million in new capital investment and 1,116 new jobs in Broward County during the 2025–2026 fiscal year, according to the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance. The economic development organization reported the results at its annual meeting at the Broward County Convention Center, attended by 600 public- and private-sector guests.
The activity covered several industries, including aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul, medical and pharmaceutical manufacturing and research, global logistics, and technology. Projects highlighted by the Alliance included major expansions in Coral Springs, new technology operations in Sunrise and Davie, and a planned regional logistics office in Fort Lauderdale.
“Business is booming in Greater Fort Lauderdale,” Alliance President and CEO Bob Swindell said ahead of the meeting.
“This fiscal year represents one of the strongest in Alliance history, featuring an incredibly robust lineup of leading-edge company expansions across key industries,” he said. “This continued growth and momentum is a testament to the strength of our market and the ongoing collaborations with Broward County, our members, partners and broader business community.”

In Coral Springs, CTS Engines is investing an additional $4.5 million to expand its aviation engine maintenance operation. The project builds on the company’s $15 million, 216,000-square-foot maintenance, repair and overhaul facility, known as its “Engine Hub,” which also serves as its global headquarters. The expansion is expected to add 100 high-skill jobs.
Pharmaceutical manufacturer Lupin is also expanding in Coral Springs. Its planned manufacturing plant will anchor U.S. production of critical respiratory therapies, with a projected cumulative investment of $250 million. The project is expected to generate more than 200 long-term skilled local jobs by 2030. Details of the pharmaceutical expansion were among the developments highlighted in the Alliance’s report.
Fort Lauderdale will gain a new regional office for GXO Logistics, a publicly traded contract logistics provider. The company plans to open the 35,000-square-foot office next year, creating approximately 150 jobs as it pursues growth in the Americas and Asia Pacific.
GXO is the first tenant announced for the T3 office building in Fort Lauderdale’s redeveloped FAT Village neighborhood. The regional office adds a logistics presence to the mix of projects recognized during the fiscal year.
Technology investment included a new Sunrise location for Audax Labs Corp USA. The technology solutions and consulting company invested $300,000 in a 34,000-square-foot office and research and development facility, creating 25 jobs. Its specialties include artificial intelligence, data analytics, machine learning, cloud technologies and intelligent automation.

In Davie, Singapore-based Buddy of Parents plans to open a 200-square-foot office at the Alan B. Levan | NSU Broward Center of Innovation. The company develops technology designed to help older adults live safely and independently at home through a senior safety system.
The Alliance also secured a $125,000 grant from the state of Florida for the Broward Maritime Defense Readiness and Diversification Initiative. The program focuses on helping existing maritime businesses pursue opportunities in the defense sector.
According to the organization, the initiative will “help the county’s incumbent maritime firms enter the defense market by building, supplying, and supporting unmanned and autonomous vessels for the U.S. Navy and other defense and homeland-security customers.” The grant adds a maritime industry effort to the company investment and expansion projects outlined at the meeting.
The annual results come as the Alliance prepares for a leadership change. Swindell, 65, has announced plans to retire next year after more than two decades leading the organization. A national search for his replacement is pending.
The projects described in the Alliance’s announcement include both investments already made and operations scheduled to open or add jobs in the coming years. Those timelines range from GXO’s planned office opening next year to Lupin’s projected employment growth through 2030.
