Pine Island Aquatic Center closes temporarily after pool pump malfunction
Davie, Florida — The Pine Island Aquatic Center in Davie has temporarily closed because of a pool pump malfunction that requires essential maintenance, according to an announcement from the town.
The facility is located at 3800 SW 92nd Avenue. Swimming operations will remain suspended until all repairs are completed. The town has not announced a reopening date or provided an estimate of how long the maintenance work will take.
For residents planning a visit, the key distinction is that the pool is closed, but the fitness center remains available. The maintenance announcement does not change the fitness center’s regular operating hours, allowing visitors to continue using that part of the facility during its usual schedule.
The fitness center is open Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Weekend hours are shorter, with the center welcoming visitors from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

The town said it will notify the public once pool operations resume. Until that announcement is made, anyone arranging a swimming visit should keep the temporary closure in mind. The notice ties the reopening to the completion of repairs rather than a specific day or time.
Details about the work remain limited. The announcement identifies a malfunctioning pool pump as the reason for the closure but does not describe the repair process, its cost or whether replacement equipment will be needed. No additional timetable was included in the notice.

Town officials apologized for the inconvenience and directed residents with questions to the Pine Island Fitness and Aquatic Center at 954-327-3926. That number is the public contact provided for further information about the closure.
For now, visitors can continue planning fitness center trips around the regular weekday and weekend hours, while swimming visits will need to wait until the town confirms that the pool has reopened.
