Sunrise, Florida – As the end of summer approaches, the Sunrise community is gearing up for the annual Back to School Splash event, a festive occasion that promises to bring families together for a morning of fun, refreshments, and essential back-to-school information.

Scheduled for Saturday, August 2nd, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the celebration will take place at the Sunrise Athletic Complex, located at 11501 NW 44th Street. The event is free to attend and welcomes all Sunrise residents, particularly families with school-age children.

This year’s event, which was previously known as the Back to School Round-Up, promises a vibrant atmosphere with a variety of children’s activities designed to entertain and engage. From face painting to games and music, there’s something for everyone. As part of the festivities, representatives from local Sunrise schools will be available to provide information and answer questions about the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.

One of the most exciting highlights of the event is the free giveaway of school supplies and books. The first 1,000 Sunrise K-12 students will receive a grade-appropriate book and essential school supplies to kick-start their academic year. To claim the free items, students must be accompanied by a legal guardian, and proof of Sunrise residency will be required via a driver’s license.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy some fun activities, and prepare for the new school year,” said an event organizer. “We’re thankful to have the support of Baptist Health and Westway Towing & Recovery, who have generously sponsored the event.”
