Florida – The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) is inviting the public to participate in an upcoming virtual rate hearing regarding proposed workers’ compensation insurance rates. Scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 10 a.m., the hearing will feature testimony from the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) and provide an opportunity for citizens and industry stakeholders to share their views on the proposed rate filings.

“The record is open for public comment through November 4, 2025. Public comment may be submitted at the rate hearing or emailed to [email protected] with the subject line ‘NCCI,’” officials stated, emphasizing that both in-person participation and electronic submissions are welcomed.

The virtual format is designed to make the process accessible to a broad audience. Participants can join online by registering through the OIR website or by phone at 1-877-309-2074 using access code 806-883-902. The agency encourages anyone with a stake in workers’ compensation insurance—including employers, insurers, and employees—to engage in the discussion.

This hearing is part of the OIR’s ongoing effort to regulate and monitor Florida’s insurance markets. As the primary state authority on insurance oversight, the OIR ensures that rate adjustments are justified, comply with statutes, and maintain market stability. The office also monitors insurance companies for compliance and works to balance the interests of consumers and insurers across the state.

“The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation has primary responsibility for regulation, compliance, and enforcement of statutes related to the business of insurance and the monitoring of industry markets,” the agency explained, noting that public engagement is a key component of transparent and fair rate-setting procedures.
