Oakland Park, Florida – The spirit of the season comes alive this December as Oakland Park transforms Jaco Pastorius Park into a winter wonderland for its annual Holiday Village. Set to take place on December 5 and 6, 2025, the family-friendly weekend event promises a magical mix of lights, music, food, and entertainment for residents and visitors alike.

The highlight of the celebration will be the official lighting of Oakland Park’s 40-foot-tall Christmas tree at the Grand Fountain Plaza. City Commissioners will join Santa Claus for the festive ceremony, ushering in the holiday season with a dazzling display that is sure to delight all ages. Visitors can witness the park sparkle as holiday lights illuminate the night sky, creating a picture-perfect backdrop for family photos and seasonal memories.

In addition to the lighting ceremony, Holiday Village offers a variety of activities designed to engage the whole family. Children can drop off letters to Santa at his special mailbox, meet the jolly man himself along with the Grinch and other beloved holiday characters, and enjoy fan-favorite attractions such as the Holiday Village Carousel and Snow Slide. Families can also experience the thrill of an artificial ice-skating rink, providing a winter wonderland experience even in Florida’s mild climate.

The event also highlights local creativity and talent. Guests can browse the Artisans & Crafters Market, where handmade gifts and unique treasures are available for purchase, and admire the beautifully decorated trees featured in the Christmas Tree Decorating Competition, presented by local organizations. For those who enjoy a bit of festive silliness, the Ugly T-Shirt & Sweater Contest will take place on Saturday night, promising plenty of laughs and holiday cheer.

Food lovers are in for a treat with a dedicated food court and cash bar offering a variety of bites and beverages to keep everyone energized throughout the weekend. Attendees can indulge in seasonal favorites while taking in live performances from a diverse lineup of entertainers. Musical acts include The Jam Band, Khemistry Band, DJ Ivan, and Dangerfun Entertainment, while dance and vocal performances feature Miss Wendy’s Dance School and the Girls Choir of South Florida.

With its combination of lights, music, interactive activities, and holiday attractions, the Oakland Park Holiday Village is designed to be a joyful, inclusive event for people of all ages. Organizers encourage families and friends to gather at Jaco Pastorius Park and experience the festive atmosphere that has become a beloved tradition in the community.

The event will run Friday, December 5 from 5:30 to 10:00 PM and Saturday, December 6 from 1:00 to 9:00 PM at Jaco Pastorius Park, located at 4000 N. Dixie Hwy, Oakland Park.
