Pembroke Pines to honor veterans with special dinner celebrating 250 years of military bravery and service
Pembroke Pines, Florida – The Pembroke Pines is preparing to honor generations of military service members with a special veterans dinner later this summer, marking what organizers describe as a celebration of “250 years of bravery.”
The event is scheduled for Friday, June 26, 2026, and will take place at the Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center, located at 301 NW 103rd Ave. Doors are expected to open at 5 p.m., with dinner and entertainment beginning one hour later.
City officials said the evening is intended to recognize both past and present members of the armed forces while also creating an opportunity for veterans to gather, connect, and be celebrated by the community they served.
Veterans and transitioning service members are invited to attend the dinner free of charge. Organizers noted that attendees must RSVP by June 15 and complete registration through the community center’s Activities Desk.
To participate, guests will need to provide proof of veteran status. Accepted documentation includes a Florida driver’s license with veteran designation, a VA Veteran ID Card, a DD-214 form, or a VA Benefit Summary Letter.
Officials also stated that veterans may bring one guest for an additional fee of $15.
The upcoming gathering arrives during a year in which many communities across the country are reflecting on military history and honoring service members whose contributions span generations of American history. In Pembroke Pines, city leaders are placing a strong emphasis on appreciation, remembrance, and community involvement through the dinner event.
In addition to the meal itself, attendees can expect entertainment during the evening, helping transform the gathering into both a tribute and a social celebration for veterans and their families.
The city continues to encourage residents to stay informed about local programs, ceremonies, and community activities through several official communication platforms. Residents can follow updates through Pembroke Pines Media, the city’s monthly NewsFlash digital newsletter, City Connect digital newspaper, social media accounts, and the city’s official website.
Comcast subscribers in the area can also watch city programming through Pembroke Pines Media on Channel 78.
