Pompano Beach City Commission Budget Workshop moves location to Commission Chambers for full livestream access

Pompano Beach, Florida – The location for the upcoming Pompano Beach City Commission Budget Workshop has been changed, with city officials announcing that the entire meeting will now take place in the City Commission Chambers at 100 West Atlantic Boulevard.

The workshop is scheduled for Monday, July 20, and will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a presentation from city staff outlining the recommended budget for Fiscal Year 2027. Following the presentation, members of the public will have an opportunity to share their comments and provide input before commissioners begin their discussion.

City officials said the change was made after the City Commission voted during its recent meeting to keep the full workshop in the Commission Chambers. A previous announcement stated that the discussion portion of the workshop would move to the Cultural Center after the initial presentation. However, commissioners decided to keep the entire event in one location to make sure the complete meeting could be livestreamed for residents who are unable to attend in person.

The decision allows community members to follow all parts of the budget process remotely and provides greater access to discussions involving important financial decisions for the city. Officials said maintaining the workshop in the Commission Chambers will help ensure transparency as commissioners review the proposed spending plan for the upcoming fiscal year.

The FY 2027 Budget Workshop will cover several key topics related to the city’s financial planning and future projects. Commissioners and staff are expected to discuss the recommended millage rates, which determine the property tax rate used to support municipal services. The meeting will also include conversations about capital improvement projects, fire assessment fees, and department budgets.

Budget workshops are an important part of the city’s annual financial process, allowing commissioners to review recommendations, ask questions and discuss priorities before the final budget is approved. The discussions help shape how city resources will be allocated for services, infrastructure improvements and community needs.

Residents interested in attending the workshop can now do so at the City Commission Chambers located at 100 West Atlantic Boulevard. The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will include opportunities for public participation.

The city’s decision to keep the entire workshop in the Commission Chambers is intended to make the budget discussion more accessible, allowing residents to participate either in person or through the livestream as Pompano Beach prepares for the 2027 fiscal year.
