National Night Out brings Plantation residents and police officers together for a night of community activities and stronger neighborhood connections

Plantation, Florida -The City of Plantation Police Department is inviting residents to come together for National Night Out, an annual event designed to strengthen relationships between law enforcement officers and the communities they serve.

The community-building campaign focuses on creating safer neighborhoods by encouraging positive interactions between residents, police officers, and local organizations. Officials say the event provides an opportunity for neighbors to meet, connect, and build trust in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

National Night Out is celebrated every year across the country, bringing together millions of residents from thousands of communities in all 50 states, U.S. territories, and military bases worldwide. The event takes place on the first Tuesday in August and aims to promote neighborhood involvement, crime prevention awareness, and stronger community partnerships.

This year, Plantation residents are invited to gather at Pine Island Park for an evening filled with activities designed for people of all ages. Organizers have planned a variety of entertainment options, including bounce houses, police demonstrations, music, and a silent disco experience.

One of the featured activities will give residents the chance to participate in a fun and memorable interaction with officers through “dunk a cop,” an activity that allows community members to engage with police personnel in a friendly setting.
