Town of Davie launches diaper donation drive to support families in need across South Florida

Davie, Florida – The Town of Davie is asking residents to help families in need by taking part in a community diaper donation drive running from September 7 through September 20, 2026.

The two-week effort is being organized in partnership with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Diaper Bank, a South Florida organization that provides diapers and other related products to low-income families and children. Donations collected through the drive will help support families as well as nonprofit community organizations that assist people in need.

Residents can donate new and unopened products at several locations throughout Davie. The town has arranged multiple drop-off points, making it possible for people to contribute while visiting municipal offices, using local recreation facilities or stopping by public safety buildings.

From Monday through Thursday, donations can be dropped off at the Town Clerk’s Office in Building C at 8800 SW 36th Street between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The Davie Police Department lobby at 1230 South Nob Hill Road and the Davie Fire Rescue Department main lobby at 6901 Orange Drive will also accept donations during the same hours.

Two recreation facilities will have longer collection hours during the week. The Pine Island Fitness and Aquatic Center, located at 3800 SW 92nd Avenue, will accept donations from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The Pine Island Multipurpose Center at 3801 S. Pine Island Road will be open for donations from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

On Fridays, the donation locations will be limited to those two Pine Island facilities. The Fitness and Aquatic Center will accept items from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., while the Multipurpose Center will accept donations from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Weekend donors will also have an opportunity to participate. On Saturdays and Sundays, the Pine Island Fitness and Aquatic Center will accept donations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Pine Island Multipurpose Center will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The diaper bank is accepting several specific types of products. Residents can donate adult diapers, newborn diapers and diapers in sizes 1 through 7. Pull Ups in sizes 2T through 5T and baby wipes are also being requested.

Organizers are asking residents to follow the listed donation categories and not substitute other products. All donated items should be new and unopened.

The Greater Fort Lauderdale Diaper Bank works with low-income families and their children across South Florida by helping provide diapers and related supplies. For families facing financial difficulties, the cost of diapers and other basic baby-care products can add another challenge to already tight household budgets.

The Town of Davie has also clarified that it will not distribute the donated products itself. Instead, the collection is being conducted to support the work of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Diaper Bank and other nonprofit community organizations serving families in need.

With several drop-off locations and extended hours at the recreation facilities, the town hopes the drive will make it convenient for members of the community to contribute.
