Town of Davie seeks local restaurants to participate in Veterans Voucher Program ahead of Veterans Day

Davie, Florida – The Town of Davie is preparing to bring back its Veterans Voucher Program for a sixth consecutive year and is now looking for local restaurants interested in taking part.

The program is being relaunched ahead of Veterans Day and will provide meal vouchers to eligible veterans living in Davie. Restaurants that want to participate have until Oct. 18, 2026, to submit their information to the town.

Under the program, 100 eligible Davie veterans will each receive one $30 meal voucher that can be used at a participating restaurant within the town.

The vouchers are intended specifically for meals and will have no cash value. Alcoholic beverages are not covered. Veterans receiving vouchers and restaurants accepted into the program will be informed about the timeframe during which the vouchers can be redeemed.

For restaurants, participation comes with several requirements.

Businesses must be physically located within the Town of Davie and have a valid Business Tax Receipt. Restaurants also cannot have outstanding code fines, liens or active cases.

Restaurants that meet those requirements must complete the town’s Restaurant Participation Form by the Oct. 18 deadline. Submitting an application does not automatically guarantee acceptance. Town staff will review the applications before determining which restaurants will participate.

The cost of each $30 voucher will be shared between the town and participating businesses. Davie will contribute $25 toward each redeemed voucher, while the restaurant will contribute the remaining $5.

Restaurants will be reimbursed for vouchers that veterans use during the program. According to the town, reimbursement will take place during the week immediately after the voucher program concludes.

The structure gives local restaurants an opportunity to participate directly in Davie’s Veterans Day recognition while providing veterans with a meal at a local business.

This year’s program continues an initiative that has now been offered for six consecutive years. By working with restaurants located within Davie, the town is seeking to connect its recognition of local veterans with support from businesses in the community.

Only 100 eligible veterans will receive the $30 vouchers, and each eligible participant will receive one voucher for use at one of the approved restaurants.

The Town of Davie is encouraging qualified restaurants interested in participating to complete the required application before Oct. 18 so town staff have time to review submissions and finalize the participating businesses.

Restaurant owners or representatives who have questions can also contact Chad Pezoldt by email at [email protected] or by calling 954-797-1151.

Through the returning program, the town plans to once again work with Davie restaurants to recognize veterans around the Veterans Day holiday while giving participating businesses a direct role in the annual effort.
