Hollywood, Florida – Road improvements are scheduled to begin October 19 in Hollywood, with three milling and resurfacing projects planned through the end of December. The work will cover sections of Hollywood Boulevard, N 32nd Avenue and N 68th Avenue as part of the city’s 2026 Surtax Improvement Project, identified as HOLL-005.

The City of Hollywood Department of Development Services is preparing for the construction as part of its continuing effort to maintain and improve roads throughout the community. Residents, businesses and motorists are being encouraged to check the locations and schedules so they can plan around work along the affected streets.

Two projects are expected to start on October 19. A third is scheduled to follow on November 2. While each involves milling and resurfacing, the projects have different completion targets, and two contractors will handle the work.

On Hollywood Boulevard, Weekley Asphalt, Inc. will improve the roadway from east of City Hall Circle to 28th Avenue. Construction is expected to begin October 19, 2026, and continue through December 31, 2026, giving this project the latest anticipated finish among the three listed.

The Hollywood Boulevard work is scheduled overnight. Crews will work Sunday through Thursday, from 8:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. Motorists who use that stretch during evening and early morning hours should keep that schedule in mind when planning their trips.

The city also expects work to begin October 19 on N 32nd Avenue, between Hollywood Boulevard and Johnson Street. Basile USA, Inc. will carry out the milling and resurfacing on that section.

The N 32nd Avenue project has an estimated completion date of November 23, 2026. It is the first of the three projects expected to finish, with a shorter planned construction period than either the Hollywood Boulevard or N 68th Avenue work. Daily working hours for N 32nd Avenue were not included in the city’s announcement.

Basile USA, Inc. will also handle improvements on N 68th Avenue, from Taft Street to Stirling Road. That project is scheduled to begin November 2, 2026, and reach completion by December 30, 2026.

The N 68th Avenue work will therefore begin while the other two projects are already scheduled to be in progress. Under the announced timelines, all three construction periods will overlap during part of November. The city did not list daily working hours for the N 68th Avenue project.

For people traveling through these areas, the main dates to watch are the October 19 starts on Hollywood Boulevard and N 32nd Avenue, followed by the November 2 start on N 68th Avenue. All start and completion dates provided by the city are estimates.

Hollywood officials said every effort will be made to limit disruption and inconvenience during construction. The city also thanked the community for its patience and understanding while the roadway improvements are completed.

Residents and businesses seeking additional information about the projects can contact City of Hollywood Project Manager Jose D. Garcia at 754.221.8020 or by email at [email protected].
