Broward County, Florida – Parents and guardians in Broward County will have another opportunity to secure a spot in their preferred schools as Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) officially announces the School Choice Late Application Window for the 2025/26 academic year. This window, opening on April 7, 2025, and closing on August 22, 2025, provides families with a second chance to apply for available seats in select schools across the district.

This late application period follows the primary School Choice open enrollment window, which took place earlier in the school year. Families who may have missed the initial deadline or have reconsidered their options can now submit applications online at browardschools.com/schoolchoice.

Expanded School Options for Families

BCPS continues to be a leader in offering diverse and innovative learning programs tailored to student needs. Through the School Choice program, families can apply for school reassignments and magnet programs at schools with open seats. This year’s late application window also includes additional opportunities at several schools:

• Nova Elementary Schools – Parents can submit applications for Nova Blanche Forman Elementary School and Nova Eisenhower Elementary School.

• Newly Reconfigured K–8 Schools – Applications are open for Coconut Creek K–8, Silver Shores K–8, Coral Cove K–8, and Hollywood Central K–8, with available seats in grades K–6.

• Pines 6–12 Collegiate Academy – Previously known as Pines Middle School, this reconfigured 6–12 school is accepting applications for grades 6–9.

• Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School – Families now have the option to apply for this sought-after school, which was not available during the original application period.

BCPS remains committed to providing a variety of educational options that cater to students’ interests and academic aspirations. From specialized magnet programs to expanded grade configurations, the district is continuously evolving to meet the needs of its growing community.

Application Process and Notifications

The application process is simple and fully online. Beginning April 7 at 8 a.m., parents and guardians can visit browardschools.com/schoolchoice to submit their applications. Since seats are limited, families are encouraged to apply as early as possible.

Once applications are submitted, award notifications will be sent out on an ongoing basis starting the week of April 28. Only applicants who receive an award will be notified via email, so it is important for families to regularly check their inboxes for updates.
