The award, which is recognized across the country, celebrates high school hockey players who not only excel on the ice but also demonstrate outstanding character and leadership both in and out of the rink. This annual award highlights athletes who embody the Hobey Baker ideal that “Character Builds Excellence,” a principle that emphasizes the importance of integrity, sportsmanship, and perseverance.

Each year, one senior hockey player from participating schools is nominated for this esteemed honor by their coach, with the recipient being celebrated not only by their teammates but also by their entire school community. As a recipient of this year’s award, Ethan has proven that success is not solely defined by achievements on the ice, but by the character one displays both in the classroom and in everyday interactions.

“Congratulations, Ethan, and Go Panthers!” the Pine Crest community proudly celebrates, recognizing not only his athletic abilities but also the exemplary leadership and character he embodies. Ethan’s achievement serves as an inspiration to other student-athletes, showing that excellence goes beyond just athleticism—it’s about who you are and how you contribute to your community.
