Pembroke Pines, Florida – The anticipation is building for the annual Mayor’s Play Ball Summer event, scheduled for July 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM to Noon at Flamingo Park. This free event, part of the nationwide Play Ball initiative, promises a day filled with baseball and softball fun for boys and girls of all ages. Hosted by the Recreation and Cultural Arts Department in collaboration with the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) and Major League Baseball, the event aims to bring the community together through the love of sports.

Flamingo Park, located at 1900 NW 122 Terrace, will serve as the venue for the event, which is designed to get children excited about baseball and softball. The day will feature a variety of activities, including a Pitch, Hit, Run competition. Participants will be divided into separate age divisions, catering to both beginner and advanced players. Boys and girls ages 7 to 14 will have the opportunity to use either baseball or softball equipment, allowing every child to participate, regardless of their experience level.

The event is part of a broader initiative that will see Play Ball events held across the country through August 2025, with mayors nationwide working to energize their communities and create lasting support for baseball and softball.

“We’re excited to host this fantastic event once again and offer the youth of our community the chance to come together and experience the joy of baseball and softball,” said a spokesperson from the Recreation and Cultural Arts Department. “Play Ball is more than just an event—it’s an opportunity for kids to build friendships, develop their skills, and foster a lifelong love for sports.”
The Play Ball event is part of a larger effort to connect communities and encourage the next generation to stay active. It’s an opportunity for kids to engage in friendly competition, discover new talents, and experience the thrill of playing ball.
