Fort Lauderdale, Florida – The Broward Center for the Performing Arts is excited to invite the community to its free annual open house, scheduled for Saturday, August 23, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Rose Miniaci Arts Education Center. The event, designed to showcase the upcoming fall theater classes, offers an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to explore the many artistic avenues available at the Center.

This open house will give attendees a chance to tour the state-of-the-art education center, where they can observe or participate in a variety of classes. From singing and dance to improv and acting, these classes are designed to foster artistic growth while maintaining a fun, supportive environment for all participants. The event also promises interactive experiences like Broadway Karaoke, where guests can sing their hearts out, and a selection of family activities that are sure to engage visitors of all ages. To top it off, light refreshments will be provided, making the event a lively and enjoyable experience for all.

One of the key highlights of this year’s open house is the chance for first-time students to register in person and receive a 10% discount on their fall classes. This offer presents a perfect opportunity for anyone who has ever wanted to try their hand at theater arts but hasn’t yet taken the leap. The fall classes, which begin on September 2, are available for children, teens, and adults, and they cater to all skill levels—from beginners to more advanced students. In addition to the general offerings, the Broward Center also provides special classes tailored to individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities, ensuring that everyone has a chance to participate and develop their talents.

For those interested in taking their involvement further, the Broward Center encourages students to audition for upcoming performances or even represent the Center in community events. This initiative provides a unique opportunity for students to gain real-world performance experience while continuing to hone their skills in a nurturing environment.

In terms of logistics, all class fees include complimentary parking, which makes attending classes even more convenient for students and their families. Classes are designed to be intimate, with limited class sizes that ensure personalized attention for each participant. For anyone who registers for a second class, a 10% discount will apply to any additional courses, allowing students to dive deeper into their artistic education.

The Broward Center’s focus on inclusivity is also evident in its scholarship opportunities. Need-based full and partial scholarships are available through the Ronald Plotkin Scholarship Fund and the David Kilmnick & Robert Vitelli Scholarship Fund, ensuring that finances are not a barrier to accessing quality arts education.

As the fall season approaches, the Broward Center continues to prioritize accessibility and community involvement. The organization encourages potential attendees to RSVP in advance, either through the online registration form or by reaching out via email or phone. This ensures that all guests have a smooth and welcoming experience at the open house.
