Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Fort Lauderdale residents and commuters are being advised to plan ahead as the city prepares to host the annual Gold Ribbon Parade of Hope on Thursday, December 4, 2025. This special event, which runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., shines a spotlight on children battling cancer and brings together the community in a moving show of support and solidarity.

The parade begins at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood and travels southbound to Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, creating a significant but meaningful impact on local traffic. Participants include a procession of police and fire vehicles, offering a visible and heartfelt tribute to young patients and their families.

City officials note that within Fort Lauderdale, the parade will proceed east on State Road 84 before turning north on Andrews Avenue, finally arriving at Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital, 1600 S. Andrews Avenue. Drivers should anticipate traffic delays and consider alternative routes during the morning hours.

Authorities emphasize that the parade is not just a traffic event but also an important awareness campaign. The Gold Ribbon Parade of Hope is part of a broader mission to support pediatric cancer patients and raise community awareness about the challenges these children face. The sight of fire trucks, police vehicles, and other participants traveling together is meant to inspire hope while reminding the public of the importance of early detection, research, and community involvement.

For those planning to attend or travel through affected areas, organizers suggest allowing extra time for delays and being mindful of road closures and detours along the route. Families, local businesses, and visitors are encouraged to view the parade from safe locations while supporting this meaningful cause.
