Oakland Park announces Soul Fest 2026 as a vibrant family-friendly celebration honoring Black History Month and cultural traditions

Oakland Park, Florida – Oakland Park is gearing up for one of the city’s most anticipated cultural celebrations with Soul Fest 2026, a lively, family-friendly festival that honors Black History Month and showcases the rich traditions of African and Caribbean American culture. Scheduled for Friday, February 6, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Jaco Pastorius Park, the festival promises an evening of music, food, and interactive experiences designed for guests of all ages.

From the moment attendees arrive, Soul Fest is set to immerse the community in a vibrant atmosphere where heritage and creativity take center stage. The event highlights the diversity of African and Caribbean American traditions through live performances, culinary delights, and family activities, making it a celebration that blends entertainment with culture.

Live music will take the spotlight throughout the evening, beginning with The Jam Band, known for its high-energy, feel-good sound that fuses soul, rhythm, and classic grooves. Festival-goers can expect to dance, relax, and soak in the infectious energy of the band’s performance. Keeping the momentum going between sets, DJ Chris will provide live DJ sessions featuring crowd favorites and interactive music moments, ensuring the celebration never skips a beat.

Food lovers will find plenty to savor at Soul Fest, with a lineup of local food trucks offering a range of flavors and cuisines. Options include fresh seafood from 681 Bites, sweet and tangy lemonade from Cali’s Lemonade, authentic dishes from Panancy Creole Cuisine, roasted corn and other treats from Pick’s Roasted Corn & More, and hearty barbecue from Seasons Catering BBQ. Whether attendees are craving savory, sweet, or something in between, the festival provides plenty of culinary experiences to complement the lively performances.

For adults 21 and over, a full-service bar operated by Big Dog Station will serve a selection of beer, wine, and liquor. Attendees are reminded to drink responsibly and must present valid identification to access alcoholic beverages.

Soul Fest also caters to families, with dedicated areas designed to engage and entertain younger guests. The Kids Kitchen offers hands-on, food-inspired activities where children can explore creativity and learn through play. Meanwhile, the Sensory Village provides a calming, interactive space for sensory exploration, inclusive play, and safe engagement for all children.
